Age 25, single.

(Enlisted in Company K, 1st Wisconsin Infantry Regiment (three months) from Stoughton, Wisconsin, April 17th 1861 and mustered out August 21st 1861 Milwaukee, Wisconsin.)

Enlisted July 24th 1862 Oregon, Wisconsin by J. Bull for three years, mustered in August 30th 1862, Madison, Wisconsin.

Appointed Sergeant at muster in, and promoted to 1st Sergeant April 1st 1863, sick in hospital, Vicksburg, Mississippi July 2nd 1863, captured by rebels at Sabine Cross Road April 8th 1864, commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, June 16th 1864, not mustered as commissioned officer, returned to company and was on leave in Madison, Wisconsin when he mustered out June 21st 1865.

Living in Oregon, Wisconsin 1905 (listed as member of 1st Wisconsin Infantry, Company M.)
