Hallelujah Camp Grounds
In the early 1920’s, a large interdenominational, evangelistic complex, known as the Hallelujah Camp Grounds, was built on the corner of Janesville St. and S. Perry Parkway (current location of Woodland Village apartments).  Hundreds of individuals and families attended the religious gathering in the summer.  This was run by former Congregational minister, Rev. Jack Linn and his wife Sophie Nelson Linn.  By 1941 its facilities included a central building, tabernacle, refrectory, small hotel, and several identical cottages.  Revival services were held in the month of August and during the rest of the tourist season the cabins were rented.    More Information
